Company name, role, region, firm type, and sector preferences (optional, used for personalization)
Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details)

IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention)
Email engagement data (opens, clicks) via our email delivery provider
Basic analytics via Vercel Analytics (page views, no personal identifiers)

3. How We Use Your Data

Deliver personalized intelligence digests based on your sector preferences
Process payments and manage your subscription
Send transactional emails (trial warnings, payment confirmations, win-back offers)
Enforce rate limits and prevent abuse
Improve the service based on aggregate engagement patterns

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Contract performance — delivering the intelligence digest you subscribed to

5. Data Processors

We use the following third-party services to operate Blackwell Sterling:

Truncus (Van Moose BV) — email delivery, EU infrastructure
Stripe — payment processing
Supabase — database hosting (US region)
Vercel — application hosting and analytics
Anthropic — AI classification of opportunities (no personal data sent)

6. Data Retention

Active subscriber data is retained while your subscription is active
After cancellation, we retain your email for 90 days (for win-back offers), then delete it
Payment records are retained as required by Dutch tax law (7 years)
Opportunity data and aggregate analytics are retained indefinitely

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your data (right to be forgotten)
Export your data in a portable format
Object to processing based on legitimate interest
Withdraw consent at any time

8. Cookies

Blackwell Sterling does not use tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics uses privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics. No cookie consent banner is required.

9. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe (PCI DSS compliant). API access is protected by HMAC-SHA256 signature verification. Database access uses service role keys with Row-Level Security policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active subscribers. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
